W1: EXECUTION
In the morning at 12:30pm sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.
Hopefully that’s not quite as long a trek as Saturday for you. All the same, you are propelled by that same sensation to come to the Flight Deck. Your feet carry you past that glass doors onto the outdoor terrace, where the benches and quaint planters await. Why, it’d look almost serene if not for the fact that one of you appears to be missing. There’s really only one place they could be, isn’t there? Your gaze might eventually settle over the runway you can see out below—the view is great from up here.
While you're not forcibly rooted to your seats, there's no way out. The glass doors close behind the last person and refuse to budge, and the viewing glass is just as unbreakable. As for any open areas, the invisible forcefield is working so very hard on this Sunday.
Oh, and because I’m sure this is the most pressing question on your mind: yes, Allstars Coffee is still serving hot beverages and small baked eats, even during execution. That’s what you need during stressful situations, right? More commemoration ASS caffeine? Yes, we thought so. You’re welcome.
In just a few minutes, the combatants approach, as helpful screens light up to further help you understand today's proceedings.
CULPRIT
EXECUTIONER
Allstars——prepare for sendoff!!

she doesn't want to crowd her, what with her backing herself in a corner, but she's approaching anyways nvm execution for a minute. ]
Lady Rosamund..?
no subject
...She can probably see you talking to me, you know.
no subject
[ softly, slowly start to bend her knees as she walks. making herself smaller, less of a possible threat, hands low to keep her balance but also so rosamund can see them. ]
I only want to better bandage your fingers if I can.
no subject
[And then her eyes flick up sharp to Kaworu in the ring. A new horror dawns on her face, stills her tongue.]
...
no subject
but she looks at rosamund after. ]
Will you tell me who she is, at least?
no subject
But she still has it in her to flick her eyes to Hulkenberg. Horrified, still, barely managing to keep her calm at the brutality on display, but there's something surprised in her gaze too. Can she really not know?]
Vi.
[her lip trembles. She swallows thick.]
Sometimes when you die in these places, you can still watch the living.
no subject
but she blinks at rosamund saying vi's name, looking back at her again. ]
... when I see her again, I shall ask her for her forgiveness and understanding, should she be upset with me. [ gently ] But 'tis not my own forgiveness that I offer, now, when I know that I will grieve what was taken from me for some time yet. Only understanding, and empathy.
I told you that to give comfort is a comfort to me. While we are apart, all I can do is take care of those that still remain - especially those that had their choices taken from them, and those that need that care.

There's a tightness to Rosamund's expression as she listens. The movement of her chest, tempering each breath to retain her composure, is the only part of her that shifts.
She takes a moment once Hulkenberg is done. Then, very quietly:]
You're very much an honourable knight, Miss Hulkenberg. And a very kind person, and wise too, to see things with such...such grace.
I think there's plenty of people who need that comfort today. I'd ask you to give it to them, please. And if you're keeping people in your thoughts today, it should be Anders. And Kaworu, and Wis'adel. [Her throat tightens. Voice cracks a little.] And most especially Vi.
Save me and my comfort for another day. I'm not...Not here. Not now.
Please understand.

hulkenberg keeps looking up, hearing things happening and wanting to keep track of it all. but she still listens to rosamund, and her jaw tightens - largely to keep her from arguing. there's a thousand things that she can say, a thousand things she wants to say. but with what's happening out there on the runway, there's not the time to, and she wants to keep watch over kaworu while wiš'adel continues to taunt and push. artemy is their remaining healer, so if he needs help... ]
I would never dare to let them leave my thoughts in the first place. [ still gentle, but something firm behind it, as she leverages herself up to standing again. ] Especially not Vi. Not after everything that has happened to her.
But I will respect your request, Lady Rosamund.

It takes a moment, but Rosamund nods.]
...Thank you. It means a great deal to me.
[She will watch her go. Somehow, the conversation in front of them, about justice, about what it is or isn't and which force will prevail, feels it serves a dual purpose.
This isn't her fight, today. They have to watch the angel and the devil cut and pommel and devastate each other, and pick a side.
Is this Justice, or isn't it?
Does anyone believe in it at all?]
