In the morning at 12:30pm sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.

Hopefully that’s not quite as long a trek as Saturday for you. All the same, you are propelled by that same sensation to come to the Flight Deck. Your feet carry you past that glass doors onto the outdoor terrace, where the benches and quaint planters await. Why, it’d look almost serene if not for the fact that one of you appears to be missing. There’s really only one place they could be, isn’t there? Your gaze might eventually settle over the runway you can see out below—the view is great from up here.

While you're not forcibly rooted to your seats, there's no way out. The glass doors close behind the last person and refuse to budge, and the viewing glass is just as unbreakable. As for any open areas, the invisible forcefield is working so very hard on this Sunday.

[ everyone should be used to seeing the first person to walk out onto the tarmac of the runway to be the voted for, right? hulkenberg's combat heels click with a finality as she moves, head held high and spine straight, all the preparation of someone ready to face death with dignity. she does look towards where she knows everyone is forced to witness the proceedings, eyes scanning the crowd that she can make out.

but as she does, the runway changes. her steps grow louder as a floor spreads out beneath her, walls caging in and echoing. a grand castle foyer begins to take shape around her, a hollow, oppressing place - it would be impressive, art in architecture, if not for the strange weight that is palpable. she takes it all in, not necessarily alarmed, but instead... on edge.

and then she turns forward, taking a deep breath to await her opponent with trepidation. ]

walking past the rest of the waiting crowd and into the castle that's constructed around hulkenberg... is rupert! presumably this would have been obvious at trial yesterday, but it's probably important to note that he now has both arms again. just in time!

he doesn't necessarily look surprised as he finds himself walking into the space, but he doesn't look happy about it, either. a few emotions play out on his face, easy to see. sadness, anger, exhaustion, all at the fact that he's here. he doesn't want this, but he takes a breath as he looks her way - this isn't about him. after a moment of hesitation:]
