Rise and shine!
Maybe the last thing you remember is back home, whatever "home" is for you. Or maybe it was in a world between worlds, as you left to go home. Either way, when you open your eyes, you're no longer in either of the above. Whoa... talk about déjà vu. Haven't you been through this whole "wake up in a mysterious place" song and dance before? (For those of you who don't have potential memory problems, that is.)
And just like last time, you're not alone. Dozens of other (live) bodies are scattered around you, coming to their senses just as you are. Hey, some of them might even be familiar to you...
Where are we?
GENERAL
You're in a spacious but dingy windowless room with metal sheet walls, dull concrete floors, and paneled ceilings with visible vents and piping that appears to go nowhere at all. It’s quiet enough that footsteps and voices echo, and the only light comes from the fluorescent lighting hanging from the ceiling. The ceiling panels drip a little, leaving suspicious murky puddles of water pooling on the ground. On the wall are spray painted construction marks and certain parts of the room are covered with dusty tarps.
While this is an open room with a lot of empty space, a part of it taken up by the enormous statue that seems to be being stored here, partially covered in dusty tarps, right in the middle of the place. It is of a blue horse in mid-gallop, and the horse’s head and prancing hooves reach all the way to the tall ceilings. It has an evil energy.
...Well, at least there are rows of connected chairs with peeling leather set up throughout the room for your comfort. There are a few vending machines around. They aren’t exactly working, but if you shake them a drink or a snack may fall out.
Towards the south end of the place is a customer service desk! While the room is currently unmanned, there is a phone available for you to dial the customer service hotline. You’re going to be on hold for a long time, but the hold music is surprisingly catchy and occasionally a recorded voice tells you that your call is very important and a customer service representative will be assisting you shortly.
BAGGAGE CLAIM
In the center-ish of the space is a simple baggage claim. The belt moves rather erratically and in random bursts, sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards. Every so often, you can see luggage jostling by on it. One of them is yours—it has your name on it! Gods know when it's finally going to come by, but once you get a hold on it, it contains: two items familiar to you (one from your world, another from your last rodeo), a phone, a passport, and lastly, a coupon labeled "CONGRATULATIONS: BUY ONE GET ONE FREE."
Should you turn on the phone, you'll find that you have no signal, making the camera, flashlight, passport directory, and memo app the only working functions of value. Yes, that's right, there's a digital copy of everyone's passport for you to flip through on your phone. Nosey. However, the device does have one notification, already saved.

BATHROOMS & SHOWERS
You were wondering, weren't you? A fluorescent bathroom sign hangs in one dim back corner. Inside are rows of metal-doored toilet stalls, two long rows of sinks, and an enormous mirror. The mirror has some cracks in it. It's pretty much as bare bones as it comes. On the wall near the exit is a touch panel. The screen reads How do you like our bathrooms? and then shows several smiley faces: 🥳🥹🤔😵💫🤡. You can share your enjoyment of this bathroom by selecting one of these smiley faces.
All the way on the other end of the dinky space are two coin-operated showers. You don’t have coins, but that's okay. The mechanism is broken, so the showers will turn on with cold water for a minute at a time and abruptly shut off.
RUNDOWN
- Characters initially awaken only with the clothes on their back.
- Characters can receive their home & game items, alongside with other offered amenities listed above, via the baggage claim.
- At the moment, any attempt to send text messages will not go through, and the network cannot be accessed due to lack of signal. The only working functions on the phone are the camera, flashlight, passport directory, and memo app.
- Profiles are currently active on the phone via passport directory.
- Multiple areas are blocked off and cannot be broken through (marked in red).
- If you are making any notable changes to the locations, please tell us in your mod DM for now!
- There will be A Thing coming up on Saturday @ 4pm PST/7pm EST! OOCly, it will go on for the rest of the weekend, so you do not need to be here immediately.

big mad about it, frankly, while also deeply disoriented for a few moments. but once she's gotten her bearings, you can find her at baggage claim... trying to pry a giant, long shape out of where it's gotten stuck at an angle on the conveyor belt. the phone and passport are left to continue rotating on the belt like they're abandoned plates of sushi, because she's too preoccupied unwedging the object from blocking the way of any more baggage.
also she wants it back. so she has one combat heel boot on the wall next to the opening, and the other planted firmly on the ground as she pulls. ] Fie and fire, 'twould have been easier to simply leave it with me if they were going to kidnap us a second time -
II. get blasted
she's currently trying to figure out how to open the tab on the can of baja blast, cheek puffed full of food like a chipmunk on one side before you hear the crisp, snapping pops of the soda fill the air as she opens it.
after taking a sip, her eyes go round. see icon. that's it that's the prompt. ]
III. ye olde assistance
Would you mind terribly..? [ either helping her understand, or figuring it out together, up to which of these that you are. ] I am afraid I know little of this sort of technology.
IV. wildcard
i don't believe in numbers
looks across the way ]

snaps to attention ]
Strohl? Oh, not again - especially not now -

[ AHHH well he is also immediately hurrying over - wincing, as he gets up, because everything hurts forever actually, ow. ] - of course not, are you - where're the others? Are you alright?
[ despite this, there's very clear worry in his voice. ]

'Tis not the first time I have had a bubbling drink, but this has something almost... electric to it? Quite unexpected!
no subject
Electric? [Looks around at. Someone. Don't worry about it.] Well, let me know if you start feeling odd.
[Just assumes this drink is also cursed]

You've never used a phone? [ well. there were ye oldes in the underground, too, so. ] Uh, sure, I can help. What're you trying to do?
no subject
[ she has to readjust to the fact that all of you are probably humans and not elda, nevermind tech. ]
Would you be able to show me its functions?
no subject
[ wild. anyway, he nods. ]
Sure, they're normal where I come from, anyway. But it looks like we can't access everything yet.

'Tis marvellous. Refreshingly crisp - I had not known what to expect, but I've no complaints at all.

Apologies. 'Twas only unexpected, the jolt of flavour that such a drink contains in only a sip.

........ How is it?
no subject
Bubbly, crisp, and sweet, with almost a jolt in the midst. [ beat, as she takes another sip. ] ... would it be odd to say that it tastes like its colour?
