In the morning at 11:30am sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.

All passengers, please report to Terminal 0 Gate Area effective immediately. All passengers, please report to Terminal 0 Gate Area effective immediately...

...But that's so far...! Groan. Still—even if you try your best to resist, you'll find your body moving against your will and taking you all the way over there anyway. After what feels like forever of walking, you'll arrive to the gate and see that a few things are different. Most of you probably had a feeling this is what you should expect, right?

The gate has been refurnished a little bit for the proceedings today. The metal gates will not let anyone out of the Gate Area without permission, but at least there's some snacks set out, and Allstars Coffee is still open in case you need a coffee break. Your Hosts await you near the front behind the counters, carrying various, but all expectant attitudes. After all, we knew this was coming.

Welcome to trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will need to discuss the circumstances, investigate relevant locations, and put together theories about the truth behind this week's murders!

Trial will last from 9am PST/12pm EST until 6pm PST/9pm PST. There will be an hour-long break starting 1pm PST/4pm EST; while players are free to continue tagging during this time, it is intended to allow players to take a minute to eat, rest, what have you.

Note: DM the mods if you intend to use a curse during trial. Curse duration may be altered or subject entirely to mod approval depending on how many curses are in play. Curse duration must end before break.

Lastly, voting is mandatory. Please be absolutely sure to get your IC vote in before the end of trial, or there are severe IC consequences!

[He has no immediately obvious chunks or bites or holes in him, no.

His hair is wet, so enjoy that feeling. Childe doesn't feel any injuries on his scalp, though.]

Okay, moving on to his adorable face. Checks his eyes and mouth... he will even be thorough and do a breath sniff. Gross. You better appreciate this, Luke.]

[Nothing of note in his mouth; his pupils are dilated. As Childe does this check, he gets the feeling that somehow this head is empty............... no not literally. Luke's brain isn't missing. Probably. But we do have Head empty (no thoughts) on this body list.

More pressingly, Childe will notice that Luke's face is scarred (cw: real-life scarring). If you don't want to click on the image, it’s basically a lot of bold, reddish thin criss-cross welts of varied size, but none are super large.]

Do the scars have a particular pattern to them--for example, as if they were made by some kind of net (e.g. one large item) or are they more random?]

[Great... are they clean cuts, or more jagged? And are they all over his face evenly, or more concentrated in one area? Do they go down to his neck as well?]

[They're scattered over his face and they extend to his neck. They're more like welts than actual cuts, so I cannot quite answer your first question, but they're more like smooth or curved lines than individually messy lines if that makes sense.]

How far down his neck do they extend? Is there anything on the tall collar of his coat thingy? If not, Childe will peel that off of him to get a better look at his upper body.]

[They stop before they would hit his clothes. Nothing on his collar.

After stripping off his shirt, Childe will see that he has a few bruises of indiscernible shape and random placement. Basically they just seem like bruises from maybe scuffling with someone (generic).

His abs/tummy have the same scarring as his face/neck.

And just to confirm, the scars look fresh, right? Since you said they were bold and reddish, and Childe would definitely be able to tell the difference between old wounds and new ones. I can't tell if the black part of his outfit is connected to the white part or not but Childe will take that off too, to be thorough. He'll also gently press down in a few places to see if there seems to be any internal damage, like broken ribs or collarbone or whatever.]

[They look recent, and at the very least, Childe will definitely not recall having seen these scars on Luke's face last he saw him.

[Last time he saw him before Luke went back into his teenage mancave... wipes a tear sadly.

Any other signs of damage on his torso, because the bruising and the welts? Also, are the welts on his torso also of varying size/length, or do they look longer compared to the ones on his face? There is more body real estate for injuries here so I gotta be thorough...

But if there's nothing else super obvious, he will move on to the left arm!! Checking to see if his shoulder is dislocated before looking for any bruising or welts over there as well... and any conveniently folded fingers that might indicate, say, the number Four,,,]

[They're pretty much the same size of his face, different sizes of body parts notwithstanding.

His shoulder isn't dislocated, but he has the same scarring on his left forearm. He doesn't have conveniently folded fingers, but you know what he does have?








A tentacle! Two, in fact. There are two extremely thin, hair-like tentacles wrapped around his hand, over a bold welt/scarring akin to the others that Childe has seen.]

[Wow... maybe he was getting ready to cook with them? How relatable.

As a guy who is very familiar with sea creatures and also spent a lot of time in the aquarium, he would probably recognize what type of tentacles they are. Are they jellyfish tentacles, perhaps... or do they need to be examined with Evidence Eyes...

Either way he will try to very carefully peel them off Luke's hand.]

Quick q can you give me a link to Childe's current fit check as he does this.]

[Just his normal outfit, however if there is a chance for me to die right now then there is a convenient hole in his gloves.]

[No but he has some degree of the same scarring on his right forearm too.]

Also checks his elbows and his fingies more thoroughly while he's here, even though his hands are shaky now.]

[Okay. Let me know if I can't do this check, but if he picks up one of the tentacles again and lays it over one of the welts on Luke's torso, does it seem to match up? Can Childe even tell when he is struggling to breathe... whatever I'm sure that's fine.]
