W1: TRIAL
34 REMAIN.
In the morning at 11:30am sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.
...But that's so far...! Groan. Still—even if you try your best to resist, you'll find your body moving against your will and taking you all the way over there anyway. After what feels like forever of walking, you'll arrive to the gate and see that a few things are different. Most of you probably had a feeling this is what you should expect, right?
The gate has been refurnished a little bit for the proceedings today. The metal gates will not let anyone out of the Gate Area without permission, but at least there's some snacks set out, and Allstars Coffee is still open in case you need a coffee break. Your Hosts await you near the front behind the counters, carrying various, but all expectant attitudes. After all, we knew this was coming.
► OOC Notes
Welcome to trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will need to discuss the circumstances, investigate relevant locations, and put together theories about the truth behind this week's murders!
Trial will last from 9am PST/12pm EST until 6pm PST/9pm PST. There will be an hour-long break starting 1pm PST/4pm EST; while players are free to continue tagging during this time, it is intended to allow players to take a minute to eat, rest, what have you.
Lastly, voting is mandatory. Please be absolutely sure to get your IC vote in before the end of trial, or there are severe IC consequences!
DM the mods if you intend to use a curse during trial. Curse duration may be altered or subject entirely to mod approval depending on how many curses are in play. Curse duration must end before break.
Good luck!

Another day, another disaster.
[She grimaces, looking around as she fetches a plate of sliced fruit and a piece of toast.]
Sorry if this is a redundant question, but are we able to tell if someone picked up a gift from the Duty Free Shop? I know that was a big concern this week.

Items cannot be collected until after trial concludes, so I wouldn't waste time trying to determine motive.

[She rubs at her neck, uncomfortable.]
We never had anything like it aboard the Eudora. So it just seems really....cheap. Especially after claiming we didn't earn anything the right way last time.

It is likely meant to make things more [ air quotes ] interesting. For whatever definition of the term.

[Making a face.]
Maybe we should graffiti the display case later. If they think anyone would be so foolish as to fall for the bait that easy, then they're as dumb as they are tasteless.

You really do have a lovely heart.

I'm just saying! Anyone would agree I'm sure.

idly, a gentle press ]
If anyone would, then there would be no need for all the concern surrounding them, wouldn't there?

It is best to press forward seeing people for how they are, not who you want them to be.
Though I do not dislike your sentiments.

[Sighs, and gives their arm a wee pat.]
Thank you for the chit chat, West. It's always good to talk to you.

I do try to make it worth people's time. [ just a light tease ] Take care. We'll be here if you need anything.

... I'm sorry. Good luck.

I'm sorry, too. It's not just us bearing the brunt of all this. Have you been keeping up all right? [A beat.] And you know, I'm awfully sorry I haven't gotten to talk to you much yet either. It wasn't on purpose, I hope you can forgive me.

[said quietly.]
It's fine, you don't have to apologize for that. You're all busy here.

[She huffs at the latter assertion.]
I suppose you're right. But even so, I'll be sure to make up for it later. Let's grab a cup of tea sometime.
no subject
... All right, if you want to.
