W1: TRIAL
34 REMAIN.
In the morning at 11:30am sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.
...But that's so far...! Groan. Still—even if you try your best to resist, you'll find your body moving against your will and taking you all the way over there anyway. After what feels like forever of walking, you'll arrive to the gate and see that a few things are different. Most of you probably had a feeling this is what you should expect, right?
The gate has been refurnished a little bit for the proceedings today. The metal gates will not let anyone out of the Gate Area without permission, but at least there's some snacks set out, and Allstars Coffee is still open in case you need a coffee break. Your Hosts await you near the front behind the counters, carrying various, but all expectant attitudes. After all, we knew this was coming.
► OOC Notes
Welcome to trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will need to discuss the circumstances, investigate relevant locations, and put together theories about the truth behind this week's murders!
Trial will last from 9am PST/12pm EST until 6pm PST/9pm PST. There will be an hour-long break starting 1pm PST/4pm EST; while players are free to continue tagging during this time, it is intended to allow players to take a minute to eat, rest, what have you.
Lastly, voting is mandatory. Please be absolutely sure to get your IC vote in before the end of trial, or there are severe IC consequences!
DM the mods if you intend to use a curse during trial. Curse duration may be altered or subject entirely to mod approval depending on how many curses are in play. Curse duration must end before break.
Good luck!
QUICKLINKS
NACHO LESBIAN GRANDE 🧀
... a possible cause of death is blunt damage, whether by an actual blunt weapon or something else. Her upper skull and face are collapsed in, at the front, to the point that 'tis difficult to see her eyes and her nose is broken. A molar tooth is missing from her mouth, as well, but no other teeth otherwise. Additionally, someone or something ripped out bits of her hair, though there is no discernable rhyme or reason to it, and 'twas not all of it by any means.
In her torso, a large portion of her left side is missing, torn out. There are no bite marks to speak of, so 'twas some other means that this happened. [ she gestures from below her own left boob down to her hip, to indicate just how fucking much of this it was. ] A rib was exposed in this happening, just enough to see some bone. On both arms are claw marks, about four to five digits, akin to a hand. Their path goes from the sides, downwards to the point that they brush along the underside of her arms, ending about near her little fingers. They were roughly the same size as my fingers - I will want to check hands again, today, as we had the last trial. While they are claw marks, it does not rule out that a person made them by some means.
Her left arm has a smaller, shallow but damaged slash wound in it. Something dug into it, besides whatever the source of the slash was. My halberd is a similar blade width, but too long a blade to have caused the injury, so we shall be checking our items again. There is a hole in that hand, edges damaged, but not cauterised, and it pierced through completely.
Her right arm also contains shrapnel, and a wound at the wrist. The latter is akin to something having clipped or caught her, but 'tis no real slash or proper wound. This hand was coated in blood, at the palms and fingertips, and had traces of dust on the palm. My initial suspicion is that the blood is from the wound in her left side, but Vi is a fighter, through and through, so there will be some sort of injury to look for on her assailant.
Aside from the continuation of the injury in her left side, the only injuries on her lower half were scuffed knees.
Any healing done is miniscule. [ mods were nice and aren't going to let us spiral - her murder night injuries are teensy tinsy, very slightly, barely noticeably healed. ] The injuries from her trip look the same as when I had helped her treat them, after she had used the machine that night.
[ ... sighs ]
She was also covered in cheese. Not entirely, but enough to be deeply noticeable - smeared all across the body, and filling her boots up. 'Tis the cheese from the museum, as no one should be surprised.
Her gauntlets are not accounted for, as she was not wearing them, so we will be looking for them today.

...what do you mean, the cheese was smeared? Like, more so than just her falling in the waterfall, like someone deliberately smeared it over her?

Claw marks...?
But wait - the log said that she used the defibrillator. Her injuries are the exact same, aside from the new ones, even after that?
[ can someone trick the log after all...
he will not comment on the cheese that's just disrespectful. ]

... so what, the cheese was just to cover all of her wounds? [ insane. ] I don't like that the gauntlets are missing, those things are heavy. You have to be pretty built to haul them around.
The claw marks are also kinda concerning though.

It sounds like the defibrillator was used just to stabilize her to keep on fighting. It's not like it heals a large amount in a short time, anyway.

Thank you, Hulkenberg.
Maybe then...even if she did use the defibrillator, before or during pursuit, the injuries she got from before weren't healing faster, necessarily? It's not magic, after all. Maybe it's not so strange that they're in a similar state as before.
