week 1 trial
W1: TRIAL
34 REMAIN.
In the morning at 11:30am sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.
...But that's so far...! Groan. Still—even if you try your best to resist, you'll find your body moving against your will and taking you all the way over there anyway. After what feels like forever of walking, you'll arrive to the gate and see that a few things are different. Most of you probably had a feeling this is what you should expect, right?
The gate has been refurnished a little bit for the proceedings today. The metal gates will not let anyone out of the Gate Area without permission, but at least there's some snacks set out, and Allstars Coffee is still open in case you need a coffee break. Your Hosts await you near the front behind the counters, carrying various, but all expectant attitudes. After all, we knew this was coming.
► OOC Notes
Welcome to trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will need to discuss the circumstances, investigate relevant locations, and put together theories about the truth behind this week's murders!
Trial will last from 9am PST/12pm EST until 6pm PST/9pm PST. There will be an hour-long break starting 1pm PST/4pm EST; while players are free to continue tagging during this time, it is intended to allow players to take a minute to eat, rest, what have you.
Lastly, voting is mandatory. Please be absolutely sure to get your IC vote in before the end of trial, or there are severe IC consequences!
DM the mods if you intend to use a curse during trial. Curse duration may be altered or subject entirely to mod approval depending on how many curses are in play. Curse duration must end before break.
Good luck!

how are our elvises? elvii? whatever. he's also going to venture ahead to see if the kitchen is still locked to them or if people can go inside in these special instances. ]

the mess is the type that you'd expect from a fight. a table wreckage, the counter a mess, shards of glass and dishware everywhere. even the wall of elvis our lord and savior has been affected. do you people know no mercy?
the elvii (plural for multiple elvis) have had their frames shattered, poor souls. he might need to linger here for a second to take inventory of their destruction or he can try the kitchen if he wants ]
no subject
and is there blood or anything on the floor if kazuki carefully starts picking his way through the mess? is the floor itself damaged at all?
he'll also look at the tables and chairs, and under if possible as he slowly makes his way toward the counter. is there a clear direction in this fight or is everything just wrecked? is anything showing less or no damage? is there any sign of what could have made the damage, like gunshots, rhinestones, a blade, or is it just like blunt force broke everything? ]
no subject
he would linger but kazuki's on it, so he starts picking his way toward the kitchen just to check. ]
I'm gonna check the back. Yell for me if you come across something or need a hand.
[ it's entirely possible the kitchen is locked and he'll just be here with kazuki anyway but he wants to at least confirm. ]
no subject
there's indistinct blood splatter around, but he'll need to actually pick through things to be able to see the floor! there's for real a mess here. in fact, he won't be able to make it to the counter yet because he will see a broken table that seems to be solidly cracked in half and in the middle of the wreckage, a right glove.
there appears to be some sparkly fragments once again embedded in the walls and the frames! i guess jonas is taking a picture of the elvii and then moving on
to a locked kitchen points and laughs get back in there, sucker ]
no subject
Got one of Vi-san's gauntlets.
[ if he scans the restaurant is there any sign of the other one? is there blood or anything around here or is it a broken table with a gauntlet. he's taking that and picking around the immediate area (again, under tables and chairs and all the mess) to see if anything else is around here. ]
no subject
but FINE. he will loop around and wander closer to the glove. ]
... well. That answers one question I had. See if there's anything inside or in the palm?
[ but he will spread out to start checking over at the counter and the like. how is our mess looking here? is the counter in one piece? is there anything around or under it? ]
no subject
it is a giant glove that is extremely heavy can you really lift this by yourself king. he can perhaps, nudge it slightly and notice that the ground beneath it is cracked! there is something flat and light-colored beneath it...? but as an otome twink teenager, the chances of him being able to pick it up easily and then resume looking around are extremely slim. might need to call for help, buddy
over by the counter, there's a tall shelf that contains a myriad of dishes. it looks like plenty of have toppled over and fallen from where they were on the counter, and there's a shape where it seems like space was cleared and the dishes were pushed further back. there are a lot of glassware fragments everywhere so watch your step ]
no subject
he will check it as jonas requested though - inside and on the palm. is this for trial eyes, i don't know, you'll tell me
what is this thing under the table give it to him. he'll be careful in trying to extract it so he doesn't fuck it up somehow. ]
no subject
instead, he's over here looking at this mess of dishes. when you say there's a shape, is it possible to discern what sort of shape this might've been? is it rounded like a fist, or is it boxy, etc? he's going to be careful and also start moving some of the dishes around on the shelf to check and see if anything is hidden back there behind some of the remaining dishes or the like.
he will also crouch to check the glass on the floor and see if there's anything mixed in with the fragments or any more blood. ]
no subject
the flat thing is not underneath the table it is underneath the extremely heavy glove. if he really pushes, he can manage to tip the glove over enough that it reveals a pedicure slipper flat against the ground.
for jonas, the shape is taller than that! larger. there's nothing hidden amongst the shelf itself, just a bunch of broken dishes. there's nothing mixed in among the glassware on the floor either, though the broken glass pieces by the shelf look bigger than the other shards in other parts of congratulations! ]
no subject
We'll have to check it later, but it's heavier than usual.
[ he will work for this slipper, not that he wants to hold onto someone else's slipper? nyeh. is it just smushed? nothing else in here, no sign of the other slipper?
what if he pokes around the debris around here? anything in or under it all, or on top of it? where is this other glove. ]
no subject
does the shape look like maybe one of vi's gauntlets punched the shelf and pushed everything back? really concerned the other gauntlet's not showing up, actually, even if he's double-checking the counter and any nearby cabinets, etc. from where we are, is there access to the carry-out window and outside?
anyway he's just picking up a broken glass piece. is this specifically dishware, or does it look like another type of glass? ]
What do you mean it's heavier than usual? [ okay, now he will come over and set the glass piece down to try and lift the glove. what the fuck is wrong with you, glove. ]
no subject
as mentioned, the ground is cracked beneath the glove from its weight, but there isn't anything else to find.
the other glove is just as giant as this one, so it'd probably be pretty obvious among the wreckage. so it seems like it's not here! there is more shattered glassware thrown all around the restaurant.
as for the shelf, it also does not look like that, it's taller than it is fist shaped. there's still no other glove here! it's a dishware piece of glass if he's picking up something near the counter. when he goes over to the glove, it's as described! it's way heavier! with all his effort, he can probably get it sliiiightly off the ground but it's going to need to take a joint effort to get it anywhere ]

actually can we go back to elvii. there were some sparkly fragments in the frames and walls. can he get a closer look at those/try to pull some of the fragments out ? do they look similar to the shiny shrapnel fragments we've already found elsewhere? ]
no subject
if you wiggle the glove the other way, there is nothing else beneath it. if they both lift it together, it'll probably be a bit exhausting, but they could theoretically bring it back to trial together.
you can go back to the elvii! when he pulls out those fragments that surround the elvii and are also embedded into some of their pictures, they do look similar to the shiny shrapnel fragments found in other locations. ]
no subject
can he pick his way over to the takeout window? checking the debris for anything else odd along the way, but is there anything back here? or if he peeks inside...? he'll also heck the walls around it for any damage. ]
no subject
there's nothing else around the pictures besides the damage to the frames and the pictures, is there? if he tries to take them down or check closely around the walls, does everything else seem kosher?
also we know the blood trail leads out of congratulations toward first aid, but about where in the middle do the droplets start? ]
no subject
as you see, i am so glad that jonas lingered by the elvii to ask! the following elvii have met their unfortunate sharpneled fate:
- an elvis who is wearing a swim cap and goggles. perhaps he dreams of chlorine.
- elvis in an astronaut suit
- KING elvis who is wearing a very dashing crown ooooo
- steampunk elvis one
- steampunk elvis two
- steampunk elvis three
- elvis if he was a guy whose face you could not place and it's embarrassing because you don't know if you should ask if you've met before
- time loop elvis who is wearing a time piece on his neck as a fashion statement
thank you i've been holding onto this lore with baited breath. the elvii are in different heights so it's more of a scatter than any intentional shooting at them
there's damage to the wall as a general area, not specifically any pictures or frames. the droplets start somewhere in the middle of congratulations before heading in the direction of the first aid center ]
no subject
i see.
is there any damage to any other walls or is it just the elvii wall. did they somehow only hit one wall at all ever despite clearly being all over this restaurant? ]
no subject
attempts to knock over time loop elvis. fuck that guy in particular. ]
So. They came here, shot at Vi, fought for a while... but then something happened that she had to abandon the glove? [ he's thinking. ] What if the gauntlets were suddenly too heavy for her, too? She told me that the way they're made with Hextech is what balances them to keep them easy to use, but if it's tech it can still break? Like maybe somebody shot the part of the glove that kept them balanced.
We're gonna have to haul the stupid thing back to look and hope somebody else found the other one. Probably first aid since we know she went that way. Anything else you can think of to check?
[ are we still generic mess in the room? nothing new to reveal with another sweep under the tables and around the door frames, etc? ]
no subject
time loop elvis sways before clattering to the ground noooooooooo
but yea! generic mess!
west looks towards the door. this is not a hint that something is on the door. it is a hint that you are done. (they will politely hold the door if you try to haul this back to trial but they can teleport back most of the way) ]
no subject
With the spray from a shotgun, that wouldn't be surprising, but if there's nothing else, let's try and get this thing back.
no subject
Works for me. [ westie bestie, please maybe help them but we are hauling this glove out of here. ]
