W1: TRIAL

In the morning at 11:30am sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.
...But that's so far...! Groan. Still—even if you try your best to resist, you'll find your body moving against your will and taking you all the way over there anyway. After what feels like forever of walking, you'll arrive to the gate and see that a few things are different. Most of you probably had a feeling this is what you should expect, right?
The gate has been refurnished a little bit for the proceedings today. The metal gates will not let anyone out of the Gate Area without permission, but at least there's some snacks set out, and Allstars Coffee is still open in case you need a coffee break. Your Hosts await you near the front behind the counters, carrying various, but all expectant attitudes. After all, we knew this was coming.

Welcome to trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will need to discuss the circumstances, investigate relevant locations, and put together theories about the truth behind this week's murders!
Trial will last from 9am PST/12pm EST until 6pm PST/9pm PST. There will be an hour-long break starting 1pm PST/4pm EST; while players are free to continue tagging during this time, it is intended to allow players to take a minute to eat, rest, what have you.
Lastly, voting is mandatory. Please be absolutely sure to get your IC vote in before the end of trial, or there are severe IC consequences!
DM the mods if you intend to use a curse during trial. Curse duration may be altered or subject entirely to mod approval depending on how many curses are in play. Curse duration must end before break.

Anyway you walk in and... wow you still have your legs. Amazing considering that the simulation room is on when you walk in.
The displayed scenery looks like this. It’s a cozy home -- big, but in a way that means a lot of people live there, coming in and out all through the day -- and the walls are covered in plants and nature, offering an atmosphere of peace and quiet, despite the busy sounds of the Lower City just outside the windows.
The blood trail heads laboriously upstairs. There is the occasional black feather here and there -- by the doorway, on a stair step. ]

Collecting the feathers as she moves in, following the blood trail and taking note of any differences in it as she goes. She'll also look side to side as she approaches the stairs. Anything of note around the place that isn't just blood and feathers?]

Nothing wrong with it except the blood leading up the stairs to the second floor. It leads to a room. Someone’s cast-off jewelry for the day has been left scattered over a side-table crowded with potion ingredients and bandages and messily scrawled notes with doodles of tigers eating men in heavy armor spurting blood and going auuuuugh. There’s a black coat with feathers at the shoulders on a hook behind the door and a well-worn staff leaning against the wall.
A lyre is leaned in a chair in the corner, which is shoved next to a little perch under the window that’s covered in orange cat hair. The place would smell medicinal, if it weren’t so heavily covered by the smell of blood. All of this also looks half-transparent and flickery. Or most of this, anyway.
By the bed on the floor, there's a very large pool of red. ]

The notebooks are probably full of more templars going aughh ahhhhh earghhhhhh and full of MLM fanfiction with women who pass the Bechdel Test because Anders is woke as hell. No idk they're there, but the templar part minimum is probably true?
The blood trail obviously leads from the door to the blool, with some amount of drag-like marks. It's right next to the edge of the bed. ]
