W3: EXECUTION
In the morning at 12:30pm sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.
Hopefully that’s not quite as long a trek as Saturday for you. All the same, you are propelled by that same sensation to come to the Flight Deck. Your feet carry you past that glass doors onto the outdoor terrace, where the benches and quaint planters await. Why, it’d look almost serene if not for the fact that one of you appears to be missing. There’s really only one place they could be, isn’t there? Your gaze might eventually settle over the runway you can see out below—the view is great from up here.
While you're not forcibly rooted to your seats, there's no way out. The glass doors close behind the last person and refuse to budge, and the viewing glass is just as unbreakable. As for any open areas, the invisible forcefield is working so very hard on this Sunday.
Oh, and because I’m sure this is the most pressing question on your mind: yes, Allstars Coffee is still serving hot beverages and small baked eats, even during execution. That’s what you need during stressful situations, right? More commemoration ASS caffeine? Yes, we thought so. You’re welcome.
In just a few minutes, the combatants approach, as helpful screens light up to further help you understand today's proceedings.

It hadn't fully sunk in that Siffrin might actually do it. And that's when urgency settles into his bones, heart rabbit quick as he thinks, no, please don't do that. Please don't do that to yourself. I'm here too.
"Admittedly, I'm too used to trying to take everything on myself so. I need to work on being able to rely on others."
But also, "But you can still help him, because you're still here. He might not know it yet, but he will eventually."
This time, he's still here. ]
You don't need to protect me.
[ The setting shifts again, taking them further inland, and then back out to the shore. It takes them to the Eiffelffe Tower, and to Shibuya. It settles, finally, back to the island, a cliff face and tumultuous waters. Maybe in the distance there are fisherman's boats, and lives being lost to the storm.
His grip is still tight in Siffrin's collar. ]
... Siffrin. You can rely on me. [ A step forward. His grip is tight, but his gaze is distant, looking at something far off in the horizon. For a moment, he glitches too. ] I'm glad it isn't me. I'm glad it's you.
You deserve it.

[ "... because you're my friend, Siff. I love you, the same as I love everyone else."
Siffrin, ever foolish, quick to attach to people, wanting to make connections. To protect what they have. What's right in front of them, what's been left behind, what's been forgotten -
The scene changes, a flicker of scenery, an impending tower, a city bustling and lively, the island again that distorts like it's crumbling to hold into together. Because that's how their memory always is. Failing, falling apart, but even if it's short, they want to remember - "I'll remember you trying right now. I'll remember your hand in mine. I'll remember how much you want to remember and want to be remembered."
Through the sound of the waters crashing below, their strings loosen, slicing right off in a crackle of black stars that shine briefly. Hands coming to that grip on their collar, gripping tight, and there's a look of recognition in their eye at his words. Brows furrow, but even now they try to fight against this script forced upon them, but "Is that what you think of yourself as? An actor?" ]
I do rely on you- [ their gaze snaps back from what they can see, feet barely scraping against the ground for some kind of purchase YOU GUYS SEE THAT HEIGHT DIFFERENCE? SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHO FED THIS BOY. ]
But not like this. --do you remember what I said? This isn't.. what you really want, and I know that! So.. [ A deep breath in, and out. Their other hand raising with a fist, ] It'll be okay.
[ Their leg kicks out, shoving Rin with more than enough weight to bruise, maybe break some bones because they always forget their own strength with their power. Too many loops, too much fighting. And as they do, there's a smell of wet rock and the cliff suddenly breaks completely from their impact of their palm against the ground in a crackle of black stars and the whole platform where they stand
starts
to fall into the waters below with them both right alongside it. ]

Despite being (anna voice) surprisingly jacked, Siffrin packs a lot of power in that cub body of theirs, he doesn't manage to react in time to stop their descent. Heavy rock falls into the water after them, crashing like thunder in his ears when it breaks the water's surface, and dully painful wherever it beats against his body.
He can feel his ears ringing from the impact before his eyes open, wide and searching for the spark of light among the inky black around them.
His limbs feel heavy, a familiar poison seeping through his veins. He's never feared the water, but he's never forgotten what it felt like to drown either, and for a moment he sinks, choking on poison and fear and memories of wanting to live, but not badly enough to kill anyone.
"He said you didn't fight back. That you wouldn't. That you swam away, scared for your life. And that's how you died."
He was ready, though. He was ready to help Siffrin because they're a good team.
So he catches sight of that light, and starts swimming.
His hands close around Siffrin's cloak again, dragging them both up to the surface— ]
—Siffrin! Just listen to me! [ Those hands move, closing around Siffrin's neck this time, bearing down. ] I know you're worried. You think that I can't handle it.
[ He presses harder. ]
But... I know it's the right thing to do. I know that I have to send you off. I know you'll be waiting for the rest of us at that carwash.

(You don't want it to end like this. There's still more..)
Lines start to glitch around, words left unsaid, words never sent out, "...even to people you're around and you have things you want to say that you can't say out loud." But instead of letters, they want to say it now. Their feet kicks for a moment, sluggishly look around but they feel too hot. Like they're boiling up. And their movements show how sluggish they've become, looking properly feverish as they blink and suddenly they're brought back to the surface with a cough.
But that breath doesn't come, as hands enclose around their neck. Choking on their next words, but their hands grasp weakly, face flushed from the burning sickness. Their hand tries to make a scissors but the harder press makes them grasp at those hands again. Struggling their next words - ]
Worried for...you. After.
[ Everything after. Not the emotions here but - "But that doesn't make your own feelings any less important either." Everything after. That's what will be important. They have to remember that. ]

No more memories cut through the scene around them, no more words of encouragement or friendship. No more reminders of the people he let down, the people who loved Siffrin, and who want both of them free from this spectacle.
Not even the turbulence from the water around them, the sharp winds from the storm, and the cold biting into his bones can distract Rin from the sight of his teammate in front of him. ]
I hope you felt safe with us. [ His fingers dig in deeper, heedless of the way Siffrin tries to grab at him. ] That you spoke your mind, and gave room to your feelings.
[ The scene around them shifts again, not a glitch and not a sign of a mind crumbling, but from an illusion weaving around them both. He doesn't have much but lies that he can offer, anyway, so out of his mind and detached from reality.
But he tries to paint a picture anyway: of a night sky filled will brilliant stars, bright both above them and in the calm water around them.
It's hard for him to see, tears starting to blur his vision, gaze still focused on the strength fading from Siffrin's expression. ]
I hope you remember that, instead of this. [ Maybe it's wrong to ask, but even so - ] Even if you don't, we'll remind you.
I'm sorry, Siffrin.
[ He could remember that he's already been forgiven too, but he doesn't. ]

Just two, as their vision blurs in and out, words they can't spit out as they suffocate. Trying to intake a single breath, loosen the firm hold those hands have without hesitation around their neck. "It's my honor to have come to know you here, and to call you a friend. Please be well in the time we're apart. We'll all meet again soon."
A sharper gasp, their vision blurring with tears as they grit their teeth. It's just like this place to do this. But despite everything... they can't bring themselves to hate. To be angry. Too exhausted, and... "But... if we can hang onto anything good. That has to count for something, right? I don't regret meeting any of you."
It counts. Even that bit of extra time here on this side. And they know it's just going on the other side, but there's a flicker of the scene, the Starfarer's lounge with all of them around for dinner.
(You.. want to let go.)
Those fingers dig deeper into their neck, listening to the talk of safety, room for their mind and feelings... the vision comes more clearly. Of the night sky. Stars they should know, but don't. Stars they should remember, but can't. They stare up at them, wheezing another breath, vision darkening at the edges.
(You.. slowly.. let go. Unable to look away, before you forget.. if you could just remember the name -)
Without warning, as their lips part to say something, blood spills out, sputtering and in their next breath, their body loses all its strength and
Siffrin is dead. ]

By teaming up with what's left of Clover Club, they still meet the minimum requirements for the Great Barrier Reef Scuba Excursion package!
Wow, I'm jealous...
