week 1 trial
W1: TRIAL
34 REMAIN.
In the morning at 11:30am sharp, you hear the intercom speakers blare loudly across the entire airport, perfectly audible no matter where you are.
...But that's so far...! Groan. Still—even if you try your best to resist, you'll find your body moving against your will and taking you all the way over there anyway. After what feels like forever of walking, you'll arrive to the gate and see that a few things are different. Most of you probably had a feeling this is what you should expect, right?
The gate has been refurnished a little bit for the proceedings today. The metal gates will not let anyone out of the Gate Area without permission, but at least there's some snacks set out, and Allstars Coffee is still open in case you need a coffee break. Your Hosts await you near the front behind the counters, carrying various, but all expectant attitudes. After all, we knew this was coming.
► OOC Notes
Welcome to trial! Over the course of the next nine hours, characters will need to discuss the circumstances, investigate relevant locations, and put together theories about the truth behind this week's murders!
Trial will last from 9am PST/12pm EST until 6pm PST/9pm PST. There will be an hour-long break starting 1pm PST/4pm EST; while players are free to continue tagging during this time, it is intended to allow players to take a minute to eat, rest, what have you.
Lastly, voting is mandatory. Please be absolutely sure to get your IC vote in before the end of trial, or there are severe IC consequences!
DM the mods if you intend to use a curse during trial. Curse duration may be altered or subject entirely to mod approval depending on how many curses are in play. Curse duration must end before break.
Good luck!

heading further in, he'll check for any other signs of dust anywhere on the way? any traces of it being scattered elsewhere? you said "there's a lot of it in area inside the museum just past the doorway"... might there be sprinkles of it further inside he could try and follow towards anything?
is there a receptacle for trash in the exhibition at all? ]

the clown shoes are still there! it is just that the rope fence has been knocked over, and rin will see that one of the fence poles is lying on its side on the ground nearer to the broken glass exhibit.
the broken glass case has some blood dripped on the broken glass. the exhibit case itself is empty except for some disturbed dust and a bit of blood. is rin looking at the plaque on the exhibit case to see what's supposed to go in there?
yes, sisi, that's right. you came in through the door and walked towards the cheese waterfall, and there's an area with a lot of blood and some cheese between the door and the cheese waterfall. but you or someone else can take a look at that.
anyway i also misread and thought you were using the broom to part the pooled cheese, so that's actually where the pink thing is. more specifically, the cheese waterfall pours down ending in a cheese pool, but then all around it right now there are messy smears of blood and cheese as well as the cheese splatters. so something both splattered cheese from the waterfall and also smeared and streaked blood and cheese all over the ground. mixed in with the streaked blood and cheese on the ground is where strohl will be able to grab a few cheesy strands of pink hair!
he will find nothing in the flowing part of the waterfall itself, though as he's doing this, he will notice that on the far side of the waterfall, there appears to be something sparkly...
artemy can look for dust elsewhere! he will find that there is also some dust stuck to the doorframe of the entryway, and he may find a little on the ground near the broken exhibit rin is looking at, but other than that he will only find dust scattered in the immediate area of the entryway to the museum. anyway, by a lot, i mean that's where it's concentrated, but it's not a ton of dust, it's still just a scattering. if he broomed it up with a pamphlet he could get most of it.
he will not find a trash can.]

Yes! He will look at the plaque to see what exhibit it is. On the blood on the broken glass case, is it like there are drips that fell on the glass, or blood along the broken edges?
He'll also pick up the pole. Is it attached to the rope or can he take it? Anything noticeable about it that he can perceive with invest eyes? ]
no subject
anyway. it's fine we're all doing great! i get it now. ]
...Artemy. [ roughly: ] Can you... [ jerking his head towards the cheese and blood smear pool since he's trailing a little behind? with this he'll take a (bad, probably) picture of the cheesy bloody nastiness, pick up the hair, and then notice the something sparkly!!!
cool. okay. well, he'll head over to the far side of the waterfall, then, treading carefully so as not to screw up the crime scene or god forbid slide into the waterfall. what's the sparkly! ]
no subject
so what does this look like shape wise - did something like plop or drop down here? fall in a particular shape? is it smeared in any direction at all and how much is there on the ground right now? is there a discernible blood to cheese ratio... and does it lead/continue/go anywhere? throws these down. ]
no subject
the blood is not on the broken edge of the glass case, it is more like drips that fell on and into the glass from something and also was mixed with the pile of disturbed dust that is remaining in the case.
the pole is one of these guys. trial eyes are needed to discern anything about it, but it is disconnected from the rope, and it's lying on the ground along with the scattered glass from the exhibit.
strohl will see a beautiful sparkly looking shotgun lying there, resting at the edge of the cheese pool. it has been set across a small round lump of cheese that appears to be subtly expanding and contracting like it is breathing...
artemy goes to inspect the blood mess! it's hard to tell exactly what happened here so much as there is just a lot of blood in a concentrated area. it's splattered blood and gore that slightly arcs out in a direction away from the door and towards the area strohl is looking at, where there are smears of cheese and blood everywhere. the ratio of the blood mess artemy is looking at is mostly blood, but with some splatters and smears of cheese mixed in the closer to the cheese pool we get.
if artemy examines the area where there is most blood, he will find that there are some fleshy gory chunks and also something else sparkly.]
no subject
Okay, sounds good. He will acquire the pole.
Looking at the ground and on the outside of the exhibits now. Is there anything to note on the ground other than the broken glass and blood drips? Any damage to the clown shoes exhibit? ]
no subject
strohl has no idea what a shotgun is, but you can bet your ass he goes scrambling over there at mach fuck, rushing over to the breathing, cheesy lump with a choked off noise and starting to take off his coat, swearing under his breath. ]
Of course -- bloody, god, honestly -- [ the shotgun's going up over his shoulder where his sword is if it has a strap or something on it. if it has no strap he'll just carry it! in the meantime, he's bundling up this mysterious breathing bundle... perhap it has horns...?? familiar ones....??? and just like, hugging it for a second while no one's looking. cheese all over his nice white shirt and his coat but it's fine.
is there cheese on the shotgun aside from where it is resting upon the baby? or is that a trial question
eventually he'll get up from doing this once he's got his composure, doing a quick scan of the area to make sure there's not anything else sparkly/interesting/relevant. hair chunks gore shiny things dust etc... blood on this side... ]
no subject
Shit...
[ he will look at these fleshy gory chunks. does he have to bring these back to trial to have a closer look or can we see what potentially terrible thing they are right now? are the chunks positioned in an arc that follows suit as well? what is this sparkly thing... he'll pick that up to start. ]
no subject
what if i was like, that is not strohl jr., it is simply a living cheese? but it is strohl junior, horns and all, covered in cheese and sleeping peacefully. shotgun questions are trial questions, but it's important to know the shotgun was lying in strohl jr.'s lap like he's a tiny sheriff sleeping on the job. adorable.
artemy will have to bring the fleshy chunks back but he can mostly see that they are bits of body gore, and yes, they're part of the arc of gore/blood splatter i described. the sparkly things are some small fragments of something sparkly, mixed in with all the blood. inspect these fragments with your trial eyes as well!
you are all doing your scans to see if you missed anything but you don't spot anything else!]
